Hi, everyone! New here. So I've been looking at the "Tara Gillesbie" page and I found this sentence where she mentions that she's leaving "Dubya".
"omfg im leeving dubya pretty soon kant wait!!!"
Does anyone think that "Dubya" is actually a misspelling of Dubna, which is a town in Russia? For one, it's one letter closer to the word "Dubya" than "Dubai". Secondly, the N and Y keys are pretty close together on a QWERTY keyboard, so it might be an accidental typo.
"Dublin" is much less likely, though it also starts with "Dub-".
The existing theory about "Dubya" standing for George W. Bush is very plausible, since "My Immortal" seems to mention some aspects in American culture, e.g. goths and Hot Topic. Besides, Bush was the POTUS during 2001-2009, and "My Immortal" was published between 2006-2007, so this theory corresponds with the timeline.
Anyways, this is just my two cents.
