"Snoop laughed meanly. He polled down his pants. I gasped- there was a Dork Mark on his you-know-wut!11!"
―Chapter 30

The Dork Mark is the symbol of Voldemort and his Death Deelers, presumably based on the Dark Mark.

Role in the story[]

The Dork Mark first makes an appearance in Chapter 30, where Snap reveals that he has one on his "you-know-wut", indicating that he is one of the Death Deelers.

It once again appears in Chapter 42 at Hogwarts, marking the arrival of Voldemort and the Death Deelers.

Differences from the original[]

Like in the original, "The Dork Mark" denotes one being Voldemort's supporter. However, while in Rowling's series the mark was placed "on the inner part of the left forearm",[1] Chapter Thirty seems to imply that the Death Deelers wear it on their genitals.

Trivia[]

  • "Dork" is an informal term for a contemptible socially inept person.
  • "Dork" can also be a term for male genitalia. Thus the placement of the "dork" mark.
